Truck Driver: The American Dream Patch 26 is now live on PlayStation5 and Xbox Series X|S!

Hello, Truckers!

It’s time for another round of improvements in Truck Driver®: The American Dream! Patch 26 is now live on PlayStation®5 and Xbox Series X|S, bringing a series of important fixes and adjustments to keep your trucking journey rolling smoothly.

This update serves as a hotfix addressing several issues introduced with the previous content update. One key improvement lets you encourage slower vehicles ahead to speed up, unless they’re stopped at a traffic light or intersection. To do this, simply honk your horn or quickly toggle between low and high beams, prompting them to accelerate using the highest available speed tier for traffic vehicles.

Alongside this new behavior, we’ve rolled out multiple bug fixes, lighting enhancements, and overall performance optimizations across various parts of the game.

We hope you enjoy these updates, and there’s plenty more coming down the road soon!

Check out the full patch notes below for all the details.

Both Platforms:

  • The player can make slower cars ahead speed up (unless there’s a traffic light or an intersection). To do this, either honk the truck’s horn or rapidly toggle between low and high beams to increase their speed (using the highest speed tier available for traffic vehicles in the game). After some time, newly spawned vehicles will once again randomly select one of the pre-defined speed states. A tutorial may also appear, hinting what the player should do if a car ahead is too slow and they want it to move faster.
  • Fixed a bug where, in rare cases when entering the garage, the player’s truck could be damaged by a specific collision.
  • During police-related traffic incidents, the camera now immediately shows the location of the police car, which also activates its sirens. In addition, the police car must be within a certain distance of the player’s truck to trigger the police intervention. This means if a police car is on the streets but too far away, the player may hit another vehicle and still get away and continue driving.
  • Lighting improvements: lamps now load/emit their light from a greater distance.
  • Fixed a bug where, in certain story chapters where time was meant to be static due to narrative requirements, it would sometimes change.
  • Memory optimizations for the PS5 version.
