A brand-new patch has arrived for Truck Driver: The Dutch Connection on PlayStation®5! Update 1.0.3.0 brings major improvements to traffic behavior, lighting, environments, and more. Updates

  • Rebalancing of traffic — for example many more vehicles can now spawn on highways compared to the day-one version: 33 maximum vs. 15 maximum on day one. In this update, the amount of traffic also depends on the weather (rain, sunshine, etc.) and the time of day. This process will continue to improve over the next several updates.
  • The player can make slower cars ahead speed up (unless there’s a traffic light or an intersection). To do this, either honk the truck’s horn or rapidly toggle between low and high beams to increase their speed (using the highest speed tier available for traffic vehicles in the game). After some time, newly spawned vehicles will once again randomly select one of the pre-defined speed states. A tutorial may also appear, hinting what the player should do if a car ahead is too slow and they want it to move faster.
  • Improvements to the Vista system’s functionality — the default images have been updated, making it easier for the player to orient themselves and infer where the special location might be.
  • Update to the physics volume of the first truck, which can now climb mild terrain elevations normally.
  • Update to the steering wheel of the first truck — its position and size have been adjusted.
  • Overall environmental polish based on player and QA reports.
  • More road signs added to the game world.
  • More building signs added to the game world.
  • New locations and buildings added, such as police stations and fire departments.
  • New roadside locations added to further improve player experience.
  • New billboards added to the game world.
  • Road updates
  • Additional polish implemented for mission locations.
  • Regeneration of procedural vegetation.
  • Regeneration of navigation.
  • The world map texture has been updated (city areas, etc. are now visible on it).
  • Lighting improvements during night scenes (this process will continue to improve over the next several updates).
  • Updated lighting inside the trucks cabin.

Bug Fixes

More than 100 bugs have been fixed in this update. Some of the notable and more important ones include:

  • Fixed a bug where during the day the speedometer and the in-cab map were illuminated at values that were too low.
  • Fixed a rare Chapter 1 bug where saves related to the Options menus could become corrupted — values were always reset and the Save function in the menus did not work. This bug made the game practically unplayable; if you encountered it in the day-one version, you would need to delete all Truck Driver: The Dutch Connection saves from the console.
  • Fixed a bug where the Vista system logic could break if the player opened the Vista menu, interacted with another menu, and then returned to the Vista screen.

Thank you all for the valuable feedback and support. Our team is already working on the next update for the game!
