SOEDESCO® is looking for a

Technical Artist 

Location: Rotterdam, the Netherlands

As a technical artist at SOEDESCO Studios you tackle all aspects of technical art implementation on upcoming projects and ports for next gen. You will be involved in projects from start to finish, working closely with the development team and external 2D and 3D artists to create gorgeous game experiences with a focus on realism. 

Responsibilities include, but may not be limited to

  • Make our games look awesome, gorgeous, breath-taking, stylish, realistic 
  • Defining and developing the technical pipeline for lighting, shaders, rendering, post-processing, 3D and 2D assets together with input from relevant development roles 
  • Help define, prototype and execute the visual aesthetics of new internal productions together with the game designer, concept artists and developers 
  • Pushing the visual fidelity of new productions and ports for next gen consoles to new heights 
  • Making sure the visuals scale between all platforms a game is developed for (Switch, Xbox One, PS4, X series S/X, PS5, Stadia, and/or others)  
  • Selection and implementation of art asset packs, plugins, shaders, tools and more.  
  • Take part in the selection process of external 2D and 3D artists 
  • Briefing, troubleshooting and giving feedback to artists and developers on the topics of the art pipeline, asset-creation, requirements and implementation  
  • Building up the internal knowledge base around the art pipelines & exploring new visual techniques 
  • Providing input and expertise during the acquisition process of new porting projects 


  • 2-5 years of experience in a technical artist or 3D production artist role for console and/or PC projects

  • Good understanding of the Unreal engine and Unity3D

  • Good to excellent knowledge and skillset in implementing shaders, rendering techniques, lighting and post-processing effects. 

  • Basic to good 3D modelling & texturing skills 

  • Experience with cross platform development, game consoles preferred 


  • Work with limited supervision & remain motivated
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Eager to learn, willing to risk & fail (new techniques, but also the whole adventure in general) 
  • Passionate about playing and making great games
  • Fluent in English (Dutch Is also helpful, additional languages are a plus) 


  • Level-design skillset and experience 
  • Illustration skillset and experience 
  • 3D Animation & rigging skillset and experience 
  • Proficient in C++/C# and Object Oriented Programming 
  • Experience with simulated environments or simulation-style games
  • Experience working with Git, SVN, or similar version of source control
  • Bachelor’s degree in related field and/or equivalent work experience
  • Experience with Scrum methodologies 
  • Experience with

In 2014 SOEDESCO expanded into retail game publishing for indie game titles for the European and North American markets. SOEDESCO publishes indie games made by independent developers as well as original game IPs owned by SOEDESCO. We also develop in our own game studios in Rotterdam and Pilsen, Czech Republic.
